FAQs & Answers About Gate Systems

How do I know I’m buying from a reputable gate installation company?

You should always look for evidence of license, bonding, and insurance before hiring any kind of trade service. Residential gate installation is no exception to this rule. Since there are a lot of electrical and other technical aspects to this line of work, it requires significant training and expertise. Therefore, it’s not a “DIY” sort of task, and we don’t recommend buying a gate and asking a handyman to put it together, either.

How do I select a good gate brand? Are there certain manufacturers you recommend?

Obviously, this depends on the needs of the home or business owner. It all boils down to what you want out of your gate regarding security, privacy, beautification, and so forth. If you browse around our website, you’ll notice we promote seven different product manufacturers (i.e., DoorKing, Linear, and Viking) who have several lines of gates and accessories. You’ll have to determine whether you want peripheral items like key fobs and surveillance cameras or if you’re mostly after aesthetic enhancements.

What maintenance should I do to extend the lifespan of my gate system?

Maintenance is always important for protecting an expensive investment. This involves owner upkeep and the gate repair/maintenance we offer. Gate owners should focus on cleaning them, especially when there’s lots of pollen, pests, and bacterial growth. Be careful not to soak any electrical components, however. Also, since there are many gears and springs on automated gate systems, you’ll need to lubricate those items with grease/oil once in a while.

Can you help if there’s an emergency and the gate malfunctions?

Our 24-hour gate repair service is always available in the event of an emergency. Sometimes even the best gate system won’t operate for whatever reason. We can help you troubleshoot either over the phone, or in person.

What happens if the parts (like the gate opener) need replacing?

We can also help you locate and replace gate system parts like gate openers, electrical equipment, or damaged sliding mechanisms. Chances are, if it’s on a gate system, we can find a new one and replace it for you.
